New Obsessions

Part of the reason I love blogging and reading other blogs is that you can find gems that you otherwise would have probably never crossed paths with. I recently entered a giveaway from one of my favorite blogs to read Paper & Stitch (Cute DIY and Fashion type blog)!  Follow the link and subscribe to her blog, you won't be sorry, but anywayyy she partnered with Lisa Leonard Designs to giveaway a $75 gift card to her shop! I had never heard of Lisa Leonard Designs and I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered her site and how amazing her pieces are. These are just some of the pieces I adore!

Obviously you change the initials below to whatever you want them to be.

You can also follow Lisa Leonard Designs on her blog. She is definitely worth checking out! She has a super funky and modern style that I LOVE! Right now she is running 30% off on sale items and I just got an email this morning that they are extending that sale and that they added new items :) AND if you sign up for their newsletter you get 15% off the next time you shop!!!

Now this next shop does not have a blog, but I can't remember whose blog I spotted them on! The store is called {all pictures via Dottie Couture Boutique}, based out of Indiana, but they have an online site. They are more playful rather than professional, but I did find a ton of really cute things while browsing! Although they don't blog, you can follow them on the usually sites, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, blah blah blah. They have no current sales running, but their prices are all reasonable!

I'm a sucker for anything with one sleeve, especially if its long sleeves.
I love Chevron everything!

Fantasy to Reality

I am absolutely addicted to Pinterest (Click link to join!) ! If you don't already have one and have enough free time to become addicted to something new, I highly recommend it! The funny thing about Pinterest is that you pretty much plan your life virtually, you pin places you'll probably never go, things you'll probably never make, outfits you'll never be able to afford, weddings way out of your price range and food that if you do try to cook it, it'll never look like the picture. But it's fun to fantasize! Props go out to anyone that actually lives the life they pin through Pinterest! And I don't know if its just me, but when people re-pin cute wedding things I've posted I get all "oh no she did not," especially if it's a wedding I will more than likely be attending. I've been adding a lot of professional outfits to my outfit board lately as my hunt for my first "big girl job" continues. I hope to cheaply replicate some of the looks I've pinned!

*This look is surprisingly affordable!*

{picture via Express}: (Shirt) Similar shirt that is more affordable than White House Black Market

*The {picture via Express} pants above are affordable (For nicely made dress pants), sign up for their rewards system and they have incredible coupons*
They no longer carry the pants above, but these are equally as cute!

And since colored work pants seem to be the popular thing right now, these "wild berry" colored dress pants from {picture via New York and Company}are on sale AND everything is BOGO 50%!

{picture via Sole Society}: (Shoes) Pinterest Pin, From their color block cool collection
*I expected these to also be too expensive to afford, but these are completely reasonably priced.

vs.

{picture via Kenneth Cole}: (Shoes) More expensive option, I just bought these at 40% off, I should have "sole" searched a little harder, because although the quality of these heels is fantastic I clearly could have gotten a better deal!

Some of my favorite stores to shop/drool over:

{picture via Express}: They have these adorable sweaters every season in seasonly appropriate colors. I have the prettiest teal color in the sweater

{picture via Lilly Pulitzer}: I recently stumbled upon her designs and although they are a bit out of my price range, I love how classy her stuff is!
{picture via Aerie}: My current employer, they are an American Eagle brand. If you currently shop at Victoria Secret, Aerie is something you need to check out!!! They strive for comfort and cuteness, all things that I love!

This entire post made me want to go shopping immediately!

DIY: From Car to Clock

At a recent American Motors car show Joshua and I went to, he picked up an old Rambler hub cap (ironically, he is now looking to buy one of these cars) to make a wall clock for our bedroom. So last night we had craft night and finally made the clock.

Supplies: Hubcap, clock mechanism, paint brushes, red paint, and a wall hanger
All supplies purchased here Michaels Craft Store

Josh did the drilling, he just drilled a hole in the middle and attached the clock

I painted the clock hands to match the logo on the hubcap and for fun I painted the wall hanger to make it look better on the wall than white plastic

And here you have it! Hopefully it will be moved into his garage when we get a house, but for now its kinda of cute on our brick wall!

Blogger?

After recently becoming obsessed with other blogs, I figured I would take a stab at writing my own...no promises on the interestingness of this blog! I'm a recent Penn State graduate (WE ARE...PENN STATE), and I moved to Detroit, MI this summer to live with my boyfriend (Joshua) who is an Area Manager for Chrysler. While in college I studied Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and fingers crossed, I can branch out into the field soon! I plan on attending graduate school next year to get my Masters, but in the mean time I'm working at an Aerie (American Eagle's undie brand, all ages should shop there) as a sales lead to pass the time.

As my about me explains, I love The Beatles, which explains my blog name, all things crafty, fashion, and spending time with my awesome boyfriend of 3 1/2 years, Josh! But I am most passionate about helping fight pediatric cancer. If you are familiar with Penn State then you have heard of THON, a student run organization that raises funds for the Four Diamonds Fund helping those fighting pediatric cancer. There will be many posts to follow on this wonderful cause!

Share any beginning blogger tips, since I'm trying to get in the swing of things!
