Haul Y'all

Josh and I buy weird stuff...ALL THE TIME! By weird I mean just pretty dang random.

{picture via RottenEcards}

I REALLY debated doing my haul y'all in the vlog form, but I don't think the world is prepared for this craziness yet! If you want me to venture into the vlogging world I would love to hear some feedback!
{all personal photos}

The first thing we bought semi recently was a new grill.
It is starting to get nice out so we immediately started looking for a grill deal.
Josh's mom (shout out to her, because I know she reads my blog!)
told us Big Lots had good deals on grills.
$199 people! What a deal!

Embarrassing fitting room picture alert****
I headed to Old Navy the other day with one thing on my radar...
Two words...Pixie Pants. I fell in love with these bad boys.
They were only $25 and the top was $15.
I also bought a super cute pair of black flats for $15
AND
got a white t-shirt for free for buying the pants!
Free shit should be my middle name (But that would be a weird middle name)

Bed Bath & Beyond has sent a 20% off coupon to our house
EVERY WEEK
since we moved here in October!
This week we decided to go check out what they had with our coupon.
Rando shopping trips are not good for Josh and I.

I found this plastic mason jar with a straw that has water in
 between two layers that you can freeze for like a ice effect.
$8.99...20% off!
Read the instructions because I cracked mine pretty much right away...
I had to exchange it for a new one and I felt dumb. So don't do that!

Josh found this fish basket for the grill.
We eat a TON of samon and it didn't go so well on the grill last time.
We will give this a try and if you are interested enough
 I will let you know how it goes.
Also $8.99...20% off!

The last thing we picked up at Bed Bath & Beyond was this candle.
Josh thought it was "cool!"
It is hard to tell, but the wicks are in an s shape.
 I held the container over top the candle if you were wondering
why I would light the candle with the container still on it!
It is by the company Ribbonwick and was on sale for:
$18...20% off!

If you liked knowing about all the random things we bought recently let me know!
We literally go shopping many times a week so I could do this all the time!

Just Stop It

I know I poked fun at men (specifically my man) yesterday, but let's say we go round two today...

I've been keeping a running tab (in my head) of ideas for this book I want to write one day called "Just Stop It!" This is specifically referring to men that make ya wanna say Just Stop It. We all know them and yet love them.

For example,

-When you see a man wear a tank top that he cut up himself...Just Stop It!
{picture via Guys}

OR
-When a guy passes a mirror (especially at the gym) and checks himself out...Just Stop It!
(cough my boyfriend cough)

OR
-When you see a couple arguing in public...Just Stop It! Josh and I were at the grocery store just this past Sunday when a man had to be escorted out by security because he was yelling like an animal at his girlfriend...Just Serious Stop It! AND Josh says, "Wonder what she did wrong..." Once again Just Stop It!

OR
When a guy walks into the store I work at (Aerie, the bra and undie store!) and makes a joke about us not having his size...and I say JUST STOP IT, because it is every single guy that walks into my store. The joke has gotten old buddy,  Just....Stop.....It!

OR THIS GUY...
{picture via Funny Things}

I would LOVE to hear your ideas for my book! Email me or comment the moments that make you look at men and say Just Stop It! I will credit you ladies when I'm famous, ha!

Sh*t Men Say #3

It's that time again! Time to make fun of my boyfriend in a constructive and loving way.

As always a BIG thanks to Amanda over at Voyage of the MeeMee for giving me the opportunity to share how funny/weird my boyfriend is and for her just being simply awesome. Like seriously check this girl out, you'll laugh after reading just one sentence.

Join The Link Up!
Voyage of the Mee Mee

I figured since I've shared here and here how my boyfriend is crazy in the best possible way, I figured I would show you this week via text message...

That time Angela (my roommate at the time) and I were rearranging our apartment and I wanted to share it with Josh...

That time we were at a restaurant "TOGETHER" and I was apparently not being nice while waiting to be seated...this one is so long it took up two screen shots.

It includes the ABC's, the word Penis,
and a catchy remix of the ending of the ABC song!

That time Josh was on a business trip and had to share his pooping situation...

That time I sent him a picture of a car that someone I follow on Instagram owns...
I just thought he would like the car and he took it to the next level.

I hope you love hearing about Joshua. The kid really is a character and that's why I keep him around.

I'd love to hear the crazy things your men are up to lately!

Sh*t My Boyfriend Says #2

Hello ladies! The time I've been taken from my blog lately has been seriously refreshing. I was starting to question why I blog after seeing my friends start to offer sponsorship or pin thousands of ways to grow your traffic. I started blogging for myself and I want to make sure I keep it that way. I missed my blog in the last week so I'm happy to be back here!

I picked the best day to come back for my favorite link up Sh*t Men Say with Amanda over at Voyage of the Mee Mee. After reading her post today I decided to use the I'm Baaaack as a tribute to her boyfriends hilarious tattoo...If your interested go check it out!

Voyage of the Mee Mee

If you didn't check out the first installment of the "Sh*t Josh Says" check it out (HERE)!

When acting like a 5 year old:
Example: when I say something like "that dinner smells delicious", Josh will say "You smell delicious" or if I say "That building is old," Josh will say,"You're old." My favorite is when I say something is "fat" and Josh says without thinking says "You're fat!" The kid is a child!

When referencing his other girlfriends:
Josh- "Can I have a drink of water"
Me- "In a minute"
Josh- "My other girlfriends get me water"
or
Josh- "Warm my feet up"
Me- "No"
Josh-"My other girlfriends warm my feet up"

***Let's clarify that he doesn't actually have other girlfriends! He just thinks he's funny!

When reading my last Sh*t My Boyfriend Says Post:
If you didn't read my last post your probably don't know that I accidentally wrote midget rack instead of midget rake...Josh had a field day with this saying he picture Midgets hung up on a rack....I can't make this up people!

When I was trying to explain what a Blate (blog date) was to him:
Josh- "Do they blang? If they really like each other do they get blarried? Then they'd become blouses! When it doesn't work out do they blivorce?"
Guys we have issues at our house...ha!

I'm so glad to be back guys! Be prepared for me to majorly creep your blogs today!

Sh*t Men Say

Today I'm linking up with the amazing blogger Amanda@ Voyage of the Mee Mee. PLEASE go check this lady out! She posted awhile back about all the Sh*t Her Boyfriend Says. The entire time I was reading it I thought my boyfriend says some pretty funny sh*t too so thank god for this link up...

Voyage of the Mee Mee

I know this is all men, but guys my boyfriend says the best of the best. I have known my boyfriend for 7 years now and if I didn't already love him some of the weird terrible goofy just down right bizarre things that come out of his mouth would make me double take.  I've known him long enough to think it's just normal.

Last month I did a Five on Friday about his weird faces for starters.

When referring to my monthly Birch Box subscription:
Josh-Your BITCH box is here
OR
Josh- How you likin' your biddy box?

Much to often Josh quotes this sign he saw in Detroit:
Josh- "We keeps it 300%" (Josh finds a use for this in almost any occasion and he always thinks it's funny)

When going to bed mad at me:
Josh- "Siri set alarm reminding me I'm mad at Angi for 8 AM"

When looking at himself in the mirror every.single.morning:
Josh- "Damn I look fiiiiiine"  (What can I say the kid has confidence. I would like to think he's joking, but I'm never sure as he licks his lips at himself.)

When wanting the back scratcher my mom got him for Christmas:
Josh- "Can you grab me the midget rack?"

Hope you liked how weird my boyfriend is...I know I sure do!

Woes of a Rental Home

Two weeks has passed since we moved into our new home and I am FINALLY ready to share what we have done so far! I wanted to start off our renting journey with a little complaining...

Those who have rented before will know exactly where I am coming from. For those of you who don't consider yourself a lucky person. Josh and I decided that renting was the best route to go since we never know when we are going to move (makes sense right?). Weeks leading up to our move I jumped on Pinterest (of course) and searched how to make a rental home feel like home. Their were endless sources to making a rental home feel more homey without remodeling.

Go ahead explore- click the pictures.

But it NEVER dawned on me that not every landlord allows you to paint or do those little touches that allow you to make this rental home your home. I bet you guessed it by now that our landlord is one of those landlords. He "apparently," just remodeled and painted. Well I am not fond of his taste in electric blue offices with a flower boarder! The first day I visited our new home was a nightmare, guys I almost cried. I know that sounds stupid and like I was overreacting, but it is what it is.

I spent the first day "bossing" our movers around  politely telling our movers where to sit things. And cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. Old houses get dirty easily! Before I start showing you what I had to work with I want to give some moving/renting pointers...

1. When your movers bring your items in document each and every dent, ding, rub, messing, and broken pieces. We had PLENTY! We are actually still waiting on this all to be taken care of

2. Clean before the movers bring your furniture in. It was so hard to clean around everything once it was in the house and boxes were everywhere

3. Don't freak out about what the home looks like before your stuff is in place. It always looks better once you put your furniture in it. I can seriously vouch for this.

4. If you can't paint or do anything extensive to your house it isn't the end of the world, work with what you have.

5. DIY! I have been so busy that my DIY projects have fallen behind, but I still can't wait to share them with you.

So I will stop talking your ear off now and pick up here tomorrow. I am ready to show you this very dated, but very charming first home for Joshua and I! And I know most of this post was kind of negative, but I couldn't be more excited to live in Louisville and be moved in completely with Josh! Sneak preview I learn to love this home!

Have you ever rented a house? What was your experience like? Any tips I didn't mention?

Five on Friday: My Fall To-Do List

Remember my Fall To-Do List? No? Let me remind you...

Fall To-Do List:
Host  a bonfire with s'mores
Wear berry lipstick
Wear tons of sweaters
Visit a haunted house/Get over fear
Go Camping(possibly in the backyard)
Visit a pumpkin patch
3 words: Pumpkin.Spice.Latte
Watch a scary movie and cuddle with boyfriend
Go apple picking
Decorate pumpkins
Buy maroon pants
Buy a pumpkin spice candle
Take lots of walks to enjoy to breeze
Make a fall wreath
Drink lots of cider
Find a corn maze to get lost in
Go on a hay ride
Drink pumpkin beer
Make cool trick or treat bags
Make Halloween Costumes
Make home-made soup

This Five On Friday I thought I would do Five more things I crossed off this list so far.

1. Pumpkin Spice Latte-
Don't mind if I do. I helped myself to one of these this week and it was heaven.

2. Watch a scary movie and cuddle with boyfriend-
Although it wasn't a movie we do cuddle every Sunday night and watch The Walking Dead! And if you don't count it as a scary TV show you need to ask Josh about my nightmares every Sunday night. If you are not a fan of this show yet, get netflix or hulu and quickly catch yourself up with all the seasons, you will not be sorry!

3. Buy a pumpkin spice candle-
I did not just buy any pumpkin spice candle, I bought the worlds best smelling candle. It is Bath and Body Works pumpkin pecan waffles candle. The first time I burned it Josh got off of work and mentioned it the minute he walked in the door, it smells that good. I highly recommend it. They always have some sort of sale on their candles. I got 2 candles for $12. I gave the second candle as a parting gift for one of my co-workers before my big move.

4. Take lots of walks to enjoy the breeze-
I felt like our last week in Detroit we spent so much time outside. Since I have moved to Kentucky I have been so busy unpacking and what not that I haven't spent anytime outside. Honestly though it feels more like winter out their now then Fall anyway.

5. In the process of planning a fun day at a pumpkin patch-
This weekend I am hoping to cross many things off my fall list all in one trip. I want to find a pumpkin patch, do a corn maze, maybe pick some apples, do a hayride, and drink some apple cider. I have done some research on different places in Louisville and the surrounding areas. If there are some Kentucky readers that want to share the fun spots, I would love that!

I hope this is what my list looks like after this weekend...

Fall To-Do List:
Host  a bonfire with s'mores
Wear berry lipstick
Wear tons of sweaters
Visit a haunted house/Get over fear
Go Camping(possibly in the backyard)
Visit a pumpkin patch
3 words: Pumpkin.Spice.Latte
Watch a scary movie and cuddle with boyfriend

Take lots of walks to enjoy to breeze
Make a fall wreath
Drink lots of cider
Find a corn maze to get lost in
Go on a hay ride

Make home-made soup

I can't wait to finish the rest of this list before the weather gets too much colder. Has anyone else put a dent in their fall to-do list? What is your favorite thing you have done this fall so far?

Side note: I am headed to go pick Josh's dad up in Lexington for a quick visit since he is in town for business! Excited to see a familiar face!

Let's Talk Hotel Livin' and Movin'

{Pre-Warning VERY picture heavy post ahead}

So let's rewind back to last Tuesday (when I should have realized that our move wasn't going to be easy). Josh and I did this to our wall when trying to take our TV down...

{All pictures via personal photos}
Isn't this just fantastic? There goes our security deposit.
But our week wasn't all bad, we did find an incredible bakery while staying in downtown Detroit.

Yum Baklava!

We left our Detroit hotel last Friday and headed into 3 days of different towns and different hotels. First night we stayed in Cincinnati and honestly just slept. We were so exhausted from the driving we did that day.

Then we woke up early and headed for Kentucky...

I saw this sign and BAM everything was gorgeous. Kentucky is such a beautiful state. It reminds me a lot of Pennsylvania (where Josh and I are from).

Although the next couple of pictures are taken from my iphone you can still see how gorgeous everything is. I followed Josh down and I am sure he was wondering why I was swerving a little as I'm attempting to take tons of pictures!

I just love all the mountains.

So gorgeous right?

We spent the next 3 days touring a distillery, a winery, eating at wonderful restaurants, and just spending time together since Josh is leaving me for the whole week starting today.

Now who wants to talk about how bad our move went?
As the movers brought our stuff in bright and early yesterday piece by piece I noticed was broken, take a look...

Both drawers will not (no matter how hard I try) stay on their tracks.

All the light bulbs are missing!

It is hard to see, but the entire leg is broken. The next pictures you can see how crooked the couch is because of it.

This is the large couch that also now sit crooked. Along with these being broken, they also broke our hub cap clock that we made, one of our end tables, and basically packed our boxes at random (making them impossible to unpack).

Sigh. I am done complaining though. I am happy to be moved into a house, with my boyfriend, and I am starting to love its old charm. Did anyone else have moving issues? Or a house that they are renting that needs some tough love?

Let's Get Josh To Get Me A Puppy

Alright everyone I REALLY want a puppy, I talked about it here. Josh just informed me that our new house (since we are renting) does not allow puppies! What kind of bull is that?

Who thinks Josh should let me get a puppy the minute we move into our next home?

{picture via personal photo}
Doesn't he look so happy with this little girl?

Does anyone else live in an apartment that doesn't allow adorable puppies? Is anyone else feeling under the puppy weather?

Sunday Funday

That is probably the most cliche blog title I have had so far. Anyway, today Joshua and I decided to have a little fun! It's about time! We have a VERY busy couple of weeks between breaking our lease in Detroit, movers coming and clearing out our apartment, moving into a hotel in Detroit, then moving into a hotel in Kentucky, and FINALLY moving into our new home. On top of all of that I will be quitting my job here and starting a new one in Louisville. Ready to see our cute, little, adorable, cosy (all things positive) first home?

{picture via personal photo}
Hello new home! I couldn't be more excited to finally have a home with Josh. Its a three bedroom (or 2 bedroom and office as we see it), a finished basement (where we plan to put our pool table and hopefully a bar),  2 fireplaces (which I think are SO adorable), and a very dated kitchen (which I'm fine with).
{picture via Argos}

Although we are renting since its our first home we wont be able to do any major renovations, I'm fine with this. Everything is just perfect for our first home!

Detroit Week Day 4: Places to Drink

No secret that Josh and I love to enjoy a good beer. We just graduated in May and are still stuck in the phase of going out and having a good time (you're only young once right). Of course we found all the best places in Michigan to get a good beer and have a good time.

Let's start with the fact that we are within walking distance to one of Josh's favorite breweries, Atwater. (And when I say within walking distance I mean literally 10 steps from our apartment and you are there.

{both picture via Atwater}
This brewery is located in a 1919 warehouse and has a really cool atmosphere.

Another brewery we love is Dragonmead. {all pictures via Dragonmead}

It not only has some of the best beer and SO many options, but the bar is pretty cool too!

How cool is this?

Josh and I normally just get a sampler of beer, because we can't decide.

Just like any good cities the bar scene is pretty good...
The Baltimore is a bar that is a total dive with tons of character. I sadly couldn't find a single picture of it, but it is featured on AMCs new TV show called Low Winter Sun ( they call it the international on the show.) They have really cheap beer, but REALLY expensive mixed drinks.

Old Shillelagh- This downtown detroit at its finest. It's 3 levels with different music on each level and is always PACKED! The top floor is a roof dance floor with a DJ.

{pictures via Old Shillelagh}

Sometimes they even have HUGE outside dance parties with a DJ.
